Brought to you by the letter "L" and the number "2"!

My baby isn't a baby anymore.
She speaks in sentences,
puts her shoes on by herself,
climbs out of the crib,
and is forming her own opinions about everything.

Lauren loves watching Elmo,
going to the pet store,
wearing sparkly shoes and Elmo "jam jams",
painting her toes,
coloring with markers,
building with blocks,
saying prayers,
and playing with "Juya", "Twent" and "Twey".

Lauren is just too cute for words. We love her joyful heart and infectious smile.

Here are a few of my favorite recent pictures of her:

Lauren's only birthday wish was for an "Elmo cake and Mootie Domper (Cookie Monster) too".
She loved the cake we made for her!

On Saturday, Daddy took her on a birthday date where she chose a pink frosted donut, then we went shopping for her own fishy, which she appropriately named Dorthy.

Of course she insisted on holding the fish herself. This is her saying "heaby!" It's a miracle the fish made it home alive.

We also decided that instead of spending money on a party, we would invest in a bike trailer for Lauren. Darin gave me a new bike for Christmas, and now that I have a trailer for Lauren, we can all go riding together! When we are getting ready to go for a ride, she eagerly runs to her trailer saying "my bike, my bike!" We are looking forward to years and years of memories on our bikes together.

On Sunday, Grandma and Grandpa Salmon and my Mom, Russ and Jessica joined us for a Valentines Day dinner in honor of Lauren and her birthday. We played our new favorite game, LCR (with candy), and let Lauren blow out her candles and open gifts.

Happy Birthday Lauren. You are truly a gift from God and remind me everyday of how blessed I am to be a Mother. You are the perfect symbol of my love for Daddy. Your birth was my greatest Valentine gift, and will continue to be every year for ever and ever. Thank you for your "huggies and kissies" and for making everyone feel like you've been waiting all day to see them. I love you more than words.

Love,
Mommy
