Trey is 5!

Today is Trey's 5th Birthday! I can't believe another year has come and gone already. I wish time would just slow down, it seems to be going faster and faster lately. I can't believe it's been 5 years since I first laid eyes on my sweet baby Trey.

Today started off with donuts! Daddy woke Trey up early this morning and surprised him by taking him to the donut shop before work. Normally Trey would whine about waking up early (he loves to sleep), but he was really excited to spend some special time with Dad. He was thrilled when the donut shop gave him a box of donut holes as a birthday gift. Trey is always so willing to share, he ended up giving most of the donut holes to Trent and Julia and even saved a few to take over to Bruin and Capri. This afternoon Trey and I decorated cupcakes together for his party. It was nice to have some special time laughing and playing with him on his special day. We colored the frosting blue and made froggy faces on the cupcakes. It was so much fun! Grandma & Grandpa Heaps, Jessica, Joanna, Bruin, Capri and Hudson all came over for dinner. Instead of having big birthday parties this year, we decided that each of the kids could choose 2 friends to take to Disneyland for a day with their season passes. Trey is looking forward to going to Disneyland with Bruin and Tosh next Wednesday and going on all of his favorite rides!

Trey has grown up a lot this year. He knows how to write all of his letters and numbers and is starting to read. He enjoys thinking up new words to spell and is really good at sounding out 3 letter words. Trey is very good a making his bed and emptying the trash every morning. He can get himself dressed and can't wait to learn how to tie his shoes all by himself! Trey is a sweet boy, he plays nicely with his brother and sisters and rarely gets in trouble. He is not competitive at all. He likes to share and enjoys seeing others win. When Trey is playing he gives everyone a turn and always says things like "come on, you can do it", and "good job"! He loves playing video games; Darin says he is actually quite good and can beat Trent at Smash brothers. Trey likes riding his scooter and bike and jumping on the trampoline in the back yard. He is such a fun little guy to have around. He has a great sense of humor and is always saying silly things and laughing at himself. He loves making goofy faces in pictures and clowning around. Trey has a special gift of making others happy. He can cheer up anyone! He makes our home a happier place and we love him so much!
