More Summer Fun... and Sushi

Our cute princess sitting like a big girl at the pool

Pretty "Jules" giving loves to Lauren (who is showing off her pearly whites)

Julia loves to pick flowers for us to wear behind our ears. I always forget about the flower then freak out when I feel it and think there is a bug in my hair! This was such a nice, relaxing day at the pool. I love my girls!

Darin with Trent and Trey. Trey has been learning to swim this summer, he's doing really well. Looks like he got tired and stole Julia's floaties when she wasn't looking, what a silly guy.

Later that night Trent and I went on a "date", just the two of us to watch Kristi and Joylynn perform in the "California Dreamin' Dance Festival". Darin and I have decided it's important to start spending one on one time with each of our kids, and this was my turn with my sweet son, Trent. Being the oldest, Trent has a lot expected of him and he never disappoints me. He is always looking for ways to help his younger brother and sister and make my life easier. It was nice to take him out and watch him relax. I enjoyed reading Peter Pan with him in the back seat of Grandpa's car, splurging on chocolate shakes at In-n-Out and just relaxing and laughing with my boy. I love you Trent!

Great-grandma Monroe and Grandpa Mark came down for the Dance Festival and stopped by for a quick visit. I was glad to get this 4 generation picture with them.

The kids had fun reading stories and making necklaces with Grandma.

This is the "Rainforest" Trey, Julia & Trent made under the trampoline. I thought it was so creative how they put the hose on the trampoline so it would "rain", just like in the rainforest.

So anyone who knows Darin knows that he is passionate about good food. He loves eating it and making it! He is really creative with food and likes learning how to cook new dishes and coming up with original recipes. Often times he'll come home from work saying he "feels like" this or that and will go online to find a recipe and watch someone prepare it on youtube.
He discovered a love for Sushi last month when he set a goal to eat healthy for 3 weeks (no candy or sugar). So I wasn't surprised when he came home yesterday with his groceries for Sushi and spend this afternoon researching the perfect recipe. He learned how to prepare the perfect sticky rice (youtube is amazing!) and before I knew it I was eating homemade
California rolls... yum!

That sushi looks good.
I cant wait to do dates with my kids. Sometimes we do it with Gavin, but he's still too little go understand. Even though its still nice to be just one on one with him.
The house is kind of hard to explain. But I dont know the area real well. So, I guess its off of Camino Real and Whitney. And I think Spencer's brother is in your mom's ward. And we would be in that ward too. Which might be weird being in the same ward as his brother.

Well we will have to do sushi together sometime. Ned and I LOVE Japenese, our favorite.

And you look SO CUTE with the flower in your hair!

I told Aaron about our double date-sushi idea and he's ready to go. Let's set a date- looks like the Brobergs might want to come too! Did the kids have fun over here today? Hope you had a good haircut!

Glad that you are finding time to spend time individually- you are such a good mom. You are such a good example to me.
I love that Kirk and Darin have such different talents. Kirk would never come home having a desire to make sushi rolls or any other food in fact. Good job Darin.
