Summer Fun

We have been keeping very busy this summer. Darin is teaching summer school this month and the kids and I are always on the go! We've been enjoying weekly trips to the pool, beach, movies and library and have celebrated the 4th of July, Grandma Salmon & Candace's birthday's, Kristi's high school graduation, Jason's 21st birthday, Cousin Michael's mission homecoming, and attended the sealing of our close friends, the Hardy's, in the Redlands Temple. It has been quite an eventful month full of wonderful memories.

Trent had a BLAST at the firework show in Riverside with my family and especially enjoyed the root beer floats at Grandma's house after word. The first few weeks of summer were hard for Trent, he really missed going to school. I love having him home with us, he is such a wonderful big brother and is always so helpful.

It's official... all 6 Salmon children are grown adults! Kudos to Scott & June for raising 6 loving, kind, responsible children and congratulations Kristi!

One big happy family

Lauren and Julia at the pool. Look at those smiles! I am so thankful that they will always have each other. There's no better friend than a sister.

This is a picture from our first visit to the Chino Youth Musuem! After 4 hours I finally bribed the children with the promise of ice cream cones at McDonald's to get them to leave. They really didn't want to go and still had so much they wanted to see and do. It was wonderful to watch them explore and use their imaginations. We LOVED the museum!

Trey's using those bulging muscles (ha ha) to get across the fireman ladder.

Trent going down the fireman pole.

Attending the sealing of Scott and Vicki and their sweet daughters, Hannah and Leah was a beautiful, sacred experience. Scott and Darin have been friends since the singles ward days and despite their busy lives have always remained close. We are so happy that he and Vicki found each other and will never forget this memorable day.

Scott and Darin

Gotta love the Splash Pad at Monte Vista Park in Chino. We had a blast with cousins Kobe, Tosh and Bryce there today. The splash pad is free and the park gives free sack lunches to all of the children!

Darin met up with us after work. He only works from 8am-1:30pm in the summer, oh how I love his job! Of course everything is better when Darin shows up. I'm happier, the kids are happier and even Lauren smiles and kicks for a hug from Daddy.

Lauren turned 5 months old this week. She celebrated by cutting her first 2 teeth!
She is rolling over all of the time now and enjoying some time on her tummy. I just love getting down on the ground with her and encouraging her to get her little head up and looking around. She loves putting her baby toys in her mouth and gnawing and drooling all over them. If she doesn't have a toy she will put her blankie, shirt or fist in her mouth. The teeth caught me totally by surprise since all three of the other kids didn't get their first tooth until 7 months. She has been remarkably calm and happy and has even lengthened her naps from only 45 minutes to about 1 1/2 hours. We are still amazed that this little cutie is ours and wish we could keep her tiny forever!

Fun summer!! You are such a good mom to do all of these fun things with your kids. Since we are in a new town I dont know of all of the fun things to do yet so our fun has been the local grocery store. The kids actually love it because they have a kid play area where I can leave them while I shop. How great is that? Grocery shopping with no kids!!
I am jealous of your husbands work hours, how nice to have him home so much:)
