Trent's Baptism

Trent was baptized on Saturday, November 7th as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was without doubt the most rewarding day of my life thus far as a mother. I was completely unprepared for the feelings that came over me as I watched Darin lead Trent into the waters of baptism. My heart swelled with a joy I have never before experienced. And then to watch the man I love, honorably use the Priesthood of God to baptize our son, who we have loved and taught and prepared, filled me with the truest happiness I have ever felt. Just thinking of it brings tears to my eyes. I am so thankful for a righteous husband and for an obedient son who gave me that moment. Knowing Trent has received that saving ordinance and has made sacred covenants with Heavenly Father brings me great peace. I am so indebted to my Heavenly Father for the life he has given me; for being raised in a good family, for bringing Darin and I together, for our children and for the blessings of the gospel in my life.

Trent and Darin before the baptism

Trent and his friend Jordan, who was also baptized that evening by his father.

Last week Trent asked if I'd take him to get a "real" tie that he could wear to his baptism. No more clip on's or zip ties for him. Here he is getting his first lesson from his Dad. It was a tender moment for Darin, who has a picture with his Dad capturing his first time tying a tie.

Congratulations Trent. So grown up - I can't believe Ethan will be there in a few months. I LOVE the picture of Darin and Trent tying their ties.

It was a great event for my children and Kirk and I as well. It made me think how close Bruin is to that age. One more year and he will be doing the same. I can't believe how fast our boys are growing. I'm constantly reminding myself to tresure every moment.

What a beautiful post. Congratulations to Trent--that is wondeful. I know in another blink of an eye or two, Ethan will be right there as well. I'm sure it's hard to describe an experience like this, but you did a great job!
