Lovin' Carpinteria

We went camping this week at Carpinteria State Beach and it was SO MUCH FUN! Darin and I both grew up camping at Carpinteria and were so excited to take our very first family camping trip there with just us and the kids. It brought back a lot of cherished memories of my childhood and reminded me of why family vacations are SO IMPORTANT. These past few days have been some of the very best days of my life. It was refreshing to be so relaxed and focused on each other and really spend quality time together as a family. We went on bike rides, ate ice cream cones, played paddle ball and frisbee, made camp fires, listened to Darin tell stories, built sand castles, went boogie boarding, caught sand crabs, walked down the beach, looked at the stars at night, roasted marshmallows and really, truly laughed and played together. Darin and I feel so incredibly blessed to have such awesome kids. They are loving and kind to each other and each have their own unique talents and personalities. We are thankful for the happiness and joy each child has brought into our lives and cherish moments like these when we can make memories together.

One by one as the kids woke up they would climb in bed with us. I love this sweet picture of Daddy and his girlies.

Who needs entertainment when you have a baby! Darin was pretending Lauren was going on "Soarin' and Screamin' at Disneyland. He also does this funny robot impersonation with all of the kids when they are babies. The big kids always get a kick out of it.

Daddy and Trent taking some waves together.

They never tire of each other! Here is the tunnel and "pool" that Trent, Julia and Trey made all by themselves.

Lovin' life at Carpinteria!

That is great to just have some quality family time together-we will have to try going by ourselves sometime.

You make camping look and sound like the best vacation ever. I wish Josh liked it more. But he didn't grow up on it. Oh well, at least he likes the beach so we can compromise. Looks like all the hard work you put into raising your kids paid off this last week. We love you guys and love having you as family.

july 12th is the day I get home from girl's camp, I'm not sure what time we get home, but I'd love to watch your kids if at all possible, so I will try to find out what time I should be back, and talk to you then.
much love, alex

I do want to enroll Tyler in that Tiny Tots. How do I do it? You can still come to hang out on Monday if you want to.
