I was tagged by my friend Danielle. This is the 1st time I've decided to respond to a "tag", mainly because I didn't have to think hard at all to answer it. I have so many weird quirks and habits. I am truly a creature of habit, my poor children and husband know all of them and make fun of me daily.
The rules:
Link the person who tagged you.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Leave a comment to let them know.
6 quirks of mine:
1- Lights
I am very sensitive to the lighting in my house. If the sun is up, then the blinds are open and curtains drawn. At no time during the day do I ever turn on any lights and if anyone in my family does and leaves it on then I am there turning them off in no time. When it starts to get dark outside I have a very specific routine of closing blinds, drawing curtains and turning on certain lamps and lighting fixtures throughout the house. I absolutely HATE the kitchen lights... they are so bright it makes me squint, plus they show me how not perfectly clean my kitchen is, so they are OFF LIMITS! I would much rather cook and clean dishes in a candle-lit kitchen then use those awful lights! Darin uses them, it drives me crazy, he calls me "The Light Nazi".
2- Dirty Dishes
I can not stand having dirty dishes in my sink. All dishes are rinsed and put directly into dishwasher immediately after each meal. And if during the day the kids use a dish and put it in there and I happen to spot it, I will stop whatever I am doing to get it out of sight.
3-Food
I could eat the same thing everyday and not care. Darin is always the one who "feel like" this or that and demands some variety in our meals. I eat Quaker Weight Control Instant Oatmeal Cinnnamon flavor pretty much every morning and have for nearly 2 years! Every now and then on a Saturday morning Darin will cook up something gourmet and I will have that instead. My lunches usually will be the same for about 6 months before I decide to try something else. I did Lean Cuisines for my entire pregnancy with Lauren and about 3 months after she was born. Then I realized they were making me totally bloated (painful!). So now I am eating a turkey sandwich on wheat bread with tomato and avacado. I need no variety to be satisfied. My favorite snacks are yogurt, apples and Fiber One granola bars and in a perfect world I would eat a bowl of Dryers Frozen Yogurt every night!
4- Rags
I can't stand cleaning with rags. Paper towels are my best friends. Rags just get dirty and smelly and make more laundry, and I have enough laundry.
5- Commercials
I never listen to commercials. Before TiVo, all commercials were muted, now I just pause and fast forward through them. This goes for radio commercials too. I change the station the second a commercial comes on. They are so annoying! Darin hates this, especially if we are in the middle of a conversation or even worse if I am giving him a kiss and a commercial comes on, I will stop, turn it off and then come back and finish the kiss!
6- Fan
This quirk is entirely Darin's fault and I inherited it when I became a Salmon. We had been home from our honeymoon no more than a day or two when Darin suggested we spend some of our wedding money on a fan. I thought he was joking, but I was wrong. Salmon's sleep best with a fan on, and a good loud box fan at that! The sound is addicting, we can't sleep with out it. Try it, you'll like it!
I tag Joanna, Briana, Trenda, Erika, Heidi and Jennifer!

No wonder you look so good! Your eating habits are great! I won't even tell you mine, you'd give me a lecture. :)
well to answer your question about conception, i was told in january that i probably could not have another child. my body just stopped producing estrogen and progestrone, which stopped me from menstrating. i was pretty much going into a menopausal state, which the doctors found very strange and could not tell me why. so this baby is in many ways a miracle because a) it was not possible and b) i haven't menstrated since january, so that is why i have no idea when this baby was conceived :)
Those quirks were fun to read. After reading them I felt like I really don't have any major quirks. Is that weird? I need to think about it seriously now. LOL
I have the same quirk with the fan, and now my husband and daughter always sleep with a fan too! But I think all your quirks are good ones.
You're funny, Janell!
I agreed with a lot of yours, and even noticed that some of the things that you put--are things that I do- and didn't even think of them as quirks i.e. dishes and fan. I guess we are both quirky!
Wow! I didn't know a lot of that about you! I don't think I am very particular about very many things. I'll have to think about this one! See you monday!
PS. I heard on the news that if you turn on a fan in your babies room while they are sleeping, they are less likely to get SIDS! Interesting huh?
You are so funny, and that must be why I love you so much! I will try to think of my quirks and get it on my blog.
Hey Salmons. I'm getting married. I need your address :) Nothing like getting a wedding invitation for a girl you were over in Laurels :P
Yep, I'm getting married in January in the Salt Lake temple :-D
I was remembering that one lesson you had about the day we get married, and how you hoped we'd track you down and send you an invitation :) its crazy that that was like 8 years ago :P
