This is pretty much what the
"boogie doctor", i.e. allergy specialist, told Julia this morning. She was pricked with 10 different needles to test her for all types of indoor and outdoor allergens. Everything from pet dander and pollen to mold and dust mites. Every test came back negative, which is good. However, her boogie problem still cannot be solved. Poor Julia will continue to sneeze and have never ending boogies as long as we live here... in
heavily polluted Southern California. Her nasal irritation is most likely due to the air she breathes each and every day. The doctor actually said to me that we need to
move! Yep, he suggested relocating somewhere near the ocean or in the mountains, where the air is cleaner. And as long as we live here, she will be taking Zurtec and a prescription nasal spray every day. I really don't want to be pumping my little girl full of meds, this is really a bummer. What would you do?

I'd gladly sell you one of our mountain cabins.

Ethan has allergies as well. He has a humidifier running every night and we give him benadryl whenever we can tell he needs it. Good luck...sorry about Lauren as well :(
Ashlyn was recently diagnosed with asthma. Before we knew what her problem was and if it was caused by allergies, we talked about moving if we needed to so she could breathe easier. Definitly not a easy choice but if I knew moving would fix Ashlyn's problem, we would entertain the thought and consider it. Maybe you can convince your health insurance to buy you a house at the beach, I mean it is health related =)
That really is no fun. However, any "excuse" to "have" to move to the beach I would be more than happy to take on :)
My husband use to suffer with asthma and then we saw a stress management specialist. It truly is a miracle, he no longer has any symptoms of asthma at all. If you are interested, call me and I'll give you all of the details. We'll keep praying for you all!
Well, you MOVE - Or you take the medication and just deal with it. Matthew has the same problem. He will take allergy medication for as long as he lives in SO. Cal. They called it "seasonal allergies". In other words, when the weather turns to Spring and the air quality takes a dive. Sorry about the news and even more sorry that she had to go through all the prods and pricks.
I like he idea of putting the beach house on the insurance co-pay. LOL
You join the club...ha ha ha...I am on zyrtec, allegra, nasal spays, and the kids have the humidifiers, kids claritin...
...are the doctors willing to buy us beach houses or cabins...maybe we could all move together....ha ha ha
sorry to hear that. it just stinks when its the kids becasue you feel so helpless.
omg i'm sooo sorry
Lucy helped us out by having some violent reactions to peanuts and corn . . . it has helped everyone else:
All of our tests for Laird came back negative but after Lucy's problem I took him off corn and peanuts. Voila. Much better skin.
Jeffrey has asthma . . .the doctor here said that allergies and asthma are closely related. I took him off corn and peanuts. Voila. No more asthma!
You might be able to pin point something? The body is amazingly interconnected. Good luck!
One more note here - we drink soy milk here abit, especially chocolate soy milk! Knowing Darin, you might want to start with taking Lauren off dairy?
