Eventful

That really is the best way to describe our week. So much fun and so many memories! Here are a few highlights:

I caught this little angel playing peek-a-boo with herself in the mirror. She was laughing hysterically at her own reflection. It was precious.

Darin decided he wanted to learn to make his own Chinese cuisine. It was
SO YUMMY!

Family Home Evening.
We read a story about forgiveness (in this month's Friend magazine, p.4-6) and talked about letting go of hurt feelings. We each wrote on our own balloon things that others have done that hurt our feelings and then decided to "let them go". It was such a great object lesson for the kids and left us all feeling a lot "lighter".

Last day of school festivities!

Trey with his best buddies: Evan, Cade and Riley.

Trey receiving his Kindergarten certificate and giving his teacher, Mrs. Chindlund a hug.

Drinda and I are crossing our fingers that Kate and Julia get assigned to be in the same class next school year; it would be our 3rd set of kids to share a Kindergarten teacher!

Trent with one of his best friends Noah.

Poor Mrs. Mooney could hardly compose herself to take this picture, she had huge tears rolling down her cheeks. We feel so blessed to have had her influence in Trent's education this year; he really, really loves her. What a great year!

My twin brother, Jonathan will be going back to work next week after taking 5 weeks of "paternity leave" to be at home with his boys. It's been the best to be able to spend time with him and his boys.

So the kids and I met up with Jon, Ethan and Reid at Dos Lagos for a picnic lunch and to feed the ducks (which pretty much turned into a duck hunt!). Here they are.... waiting for the ducks, which never did make their way to our side of the lake.
What's with the bread on Julia's head, Trey???

Dos Lagos may not have very many ducks, but it does have this exquisite bridge! I haven't seen a more beautiful bridge in my life. I had to get lots of pictures with the kids in it!

Trey found this piece of a tumble weed and said while placing it on his head, "Look Mom! I'm a deer!" Jon and I had a good laugh. After that all the kids ran around finding pieces to put on their heads so they could be deers too. It was so funny!

Friday, I joined Darin on his school's 8th grade trip to Knotts Berry Farm as a chaperone. The bus ride was the only "chaperoning" we had to do. Once we got to the park, the kids were on their own, and so were we! We went on all of the newest rollercoasters. The coolest thing is that there are video cameras mounted right in front of you recording your experience on the rollercoasters. It was such a hoot to watch ourselves! If you ever go to Knotts, you must ride the Accelerator, what a thrill!

A big thank you to our Mothers for spoiling our children all weekend and giving Darin and I nearly 2 days kid-free! We love you!

That Trey can always make us laugh! Glad you were able to have a playdate w/ Jon before he went back to work. Looking forward to lots of summer fun with you guys in the next 2 months. I have a feeling our posts are going to be very similiar :).

Lauren is getting so big. I love all that brown hair. That balloon idea is really cute. I'm sure the kids enjoyed watching the balloons fly away. Knott's sounded like lots of fun. I haven't been their since I went to Knott's Scary Farm years and years ago.

What a cute picture at Knotts! I went there with my 5th graders and actually saw Mr. Brockman there with his 8th graders. Weird huh??
