I had the great privilege of attending BYU Women's Conference with a few very good friends of mine in late April. After hearing my friend Danielle bear her testimony last year after attending Women's Conference, I decided that this year I needed to join her. Lucky for me, Trenda was able to make plans to join us too.

The theme of the conference was "Choose ye this day to serve the Lord" (Moses 6:33-34). Speakers included Julie B. Beck, General Relief Society President, her counselors Barbara Thompson and Silvia H. Allred and Elder Dallin H. Oaks of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles and his wife Kristen, as well as dozens of other amazing presenters. I had a wonderful experience, everything I heard was what I needed and wanted to hear, I came home with a notebook full of practical ideas to make positive changes in myself and to be a better mother, wife and disciple of Christ. I have a renewed determination to choose the Lord in every choice and circumstance and feel privileged to be part of such a great and marvelous work. I am so grateful for my experience at Woman's Conference, spending 2 day's with 15,000 of the worlds most dedicated and faithful women was truly a joy.

For the record, I love Utah. I love the mountains, the snow and the people. I was able to stay with Darin's Aunt Kathy and Uncle Brent and see his cousin Jenn and her cute family. Being with Trenda always takes me back 15 years. It amazes me that no matter how long it's been or how old we get, when we're together, it's as if we are still teenagers, off at college, as room mates and best friends with big dreams and a wonderful friendship. It was great to see her family and her new house and to really catch up.
The kids gave me a great welcome home, we went out to dinner, and I broke out the chocolate covered cinnamon bears and BYU t-shirts for all. Lucky for me my hubby is truly the best, the house was spotless and he said with pride "you would've been so proud of me... I did everything just they way you would have if you were here". He even attempted the girls hair, which is HUGE for him!
