Big Sister

Julia has been looking forward to being a big sister for months now. She practiced her big sister skills with her dolls and talked about her big sister plans every day nearly the entire time I was pregnant! One of the most exciting days was when we rearranged her bedroom and set up the crib. She was so excited to share a room with her baby sister. She has adored Lauren from the moment she set eyes on her in the hospital and has adjusted really well to her. The hardest thing for Julia is letting me being the Mommy. She's had a hard time understanding why I get to feed her, hold her, carry her, and why Lauren gets to sleep in my room and why she can't be the Mommy. Last week I laid Lauren on the floor where Julia and Trey were watching Dora while I finished getting dressed. A few minutes later when I went back to check on her I found her in Julia's arms! Julia had scooted her onto her lap, given her a pacificer and put her to sleep! I tried not to freak out and had yet another talk with Julia about not picking up Lauren. As frightening as it was, Big Sister Julia and Baby Sister Lauren looked absolutely adorable together and I snaped this memorable photo.
